About the log

Rift Valley Birding is a non-commercial log of birdlife along the East African Rift. It collects photography that its authors released under free licences, sorts it by species and habitat, and publishes it with full credit.

It is organised the way birders actually work: by where a bird lives and when it shows, not by taxonomy alone. For each habitat zone we show what turns up in season, and link back to the original file page so date and location can be checked.

There is no advertising and no tracking. Hosting is paid privately. If you photograph birds in the region and would like to contribute under a free licence, please get in touch.
